PETALING JAYA: The Education Ministry will close 122 schools effective Tuesday (Oct 6) in Kota Kinabalu, Penampang and Putatan, Sabah due to the conditional movement control order (MCO).

The ministry said that it takes note of the Cabinet's decision to implement the conditional MCO in these areas from Wednesday .Earlier, the government announced that a conditional MCO has been put in place for Kota Kinabalu, Penampang and Putatan districts in Sabah, which will start on Wednesday at 12.01am following a spike in Covid-19 cases.

“Movement in and out of the areas under conditional MCO is strictly prohibited. Only essential services, including factories and supply chains related to necessary services are allowed. The International Trade and Industry Ministry will provide a list of services that will be needed in the affected areas,” he said.
