Media-measurement company Comscore reported disappointing first-quarter earnings and said it would reduce its head count

“Over the past five weeks, we began a strategic review of the company, including all aspects of customer relationships, products, and organization structure,” Comscore’s interim chief executive, Dale Fuller, said in an earnings statement. “While the strategic review is still in process, we have identified and implemented actions this week that we believe will result in a better customer experience, improved organizational efficiency, and resources that are better aligned with business needs.

Bryan Wiener, the company’s former chief executive, and Sarah Hofstetter, its president, announced their resignations March 31 after less than a year in their roles, citing disagreements with the board over the execution of the company’s strategy. In addition to cutting staff, the company said it is renegotiating data contracts and lowering its fixed costs.
