JOHOR BARU: The Communications and Digital Ministry will wait for police investigations following the case of a death threat made against the popular Indonesian rock band Radja.
Its minister Fahmi Fadzi said that the public should be mindful of their words, especially online, as they can be easily misinterpreted by other people.
“I think that we should be mindful of what we say online, and that is why digital or internet literacy is important. Sometimes, what we think is a joke might come out differently to other people,” added Fahmi. Johor police chief Datuk Kamarul Zaman Mamat said the suspects are aged 37 and 48 and were arrested at the Johor Baru south district police headquarters at 3.30pm on Sunday.
Fahmi had been asked to comment on the police report made by the rock band and whether it would affect Malaysia’s status in welcoming foreign artistes to the country.
