CAST schools are enabling businesses to meaningfully engage with public education to everyone’s benefit.
CPS Energy will onboard 40 summer interns, which includes students from CAST schools that help students connect their education to a future career.CPS Energy has welcomed 40 summer interns. When I share this, most people assume I mean college students. But one-quarter of them are high school students.
In my role for CPS Energy, I’ve engaged with many intern programs, and this front-row seat introduced me to a group of schools called the Centers for Applied Science & Technology, or CAST. CAST helps students identify their talents and interests, connecting them to education and career in meaningful ways.
Last summer, rising CAST Tech High School senior Adel Leza had an internship at CPS Energy. Leza, who studies business at CAST Tech, got a job in IT with our digital help desk, performing many of the job duties of our full-time staff.
