The Commission on Elections will release this week the list of “areas of concern” for the 2022 polls.

The Commission on Elections will release this week the list of “areas of concern” for the 2022 polls.

According to the Comelec Commissioner George Erwin M. Garcia, the Philippine National Police , and Armed Forces of the Philippines have already submitted their lists of areas that they deem as “areas of concern.”“By Thursday mag-a-announce po ang Comelec ng areas of concern ,” he said during a “Laging Handa” briefing on Monday, March 28.

The Comelec will use a color-coded system again to tag “areas of concern”, formerly called election “hotspots.”Areas tagged as Green have no problem and no cause for concern; Yellow means the areas have a history of political unrest; while Orange indicates such areas have armed groups. “Lalo na ‘yung Red [areas] na bibigyan natin ng pagtutok at pagtuon dahil napakataas na posibilidad na magkaroon ng violence okaya matindi talaga ‘yung laban o awayan ng mga kadindato sa mga local ,” he said.
