PETALING JAYA: The boyfriend of a woman who recently courted controversy over a performance that insulted Islam has been charged at the Sessions Court here on Wednesday (July 13).

PETALING JAYA: The boyfriend of a woman who courted controversy over a performance that insulted Islam has been charged at the Sessions Court here on Wednesday .

The accused, Alexander Navin Vijayachandran, 38, pleaded not guilty to the charge framed under Section 233 and Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998.Vijayachandran is the boyfriend of Siti Nuramira Abdullah, 26, who was earlier charged at the Kuala Lumpur Sessions Court on Wednesday under Section 298A of the Penal Code with causing disharmony, disunity, or feelings of enmity, hatred or ill will, or prejudicing the maintenance of harmony or unity, on grounds of religion.

The video was of a performance during an open-mic night at the Crackhouse Comedy Club in Taman Tun Dr Ismail.
