Coastal areas could get between 0.10 and 0.30 inches of precipitation from Friday to Saturday, while inland areas get nearly twice as much
If you're making weekend plans, think twice about lingering outdoors, especially on Saturday, which will be a dreary mix of cold temperatures, strong winds and sporadic showers across San Diego County. A quick-moving Pacific storm will surge ashore Friday and last until at least Saturday night, and possibly into Sunday, dropping 0.10 to 0.30 inches of rain at the coast. About twice as much could fall across inland valleys and foothills.
The precipitation could interfere with a lot of Little League games countywide on Saturday, when the daytime high in San Diego will reach only 63 degrees. It'll be a couple of degrees colder on Sunday and Monday. The bigger concern will be the wind, which could hit 66 mph on Mount Laguna, 58 mph in Julian and 50 mph on Interstate 8 east of Alpine all the way to the boundary of San Diego and Imperial counties. The winds are expected to buffet motor vehicles hard.
