BREAKING UPDATE: The Cochise County Board of Supervisors have voted to approve their election results, completing Arizona's ballot canvass. The vote comes after a judge ordered the results be approved by 5 p.m. today.
On Tuesday, the board voted to hire attorney Bryan Blehm to represent them in court over its refusal to certify the 2022 election results.
Blehm was previously hired by the Cyber Ninjas to help it run the 2020 audit of the Maricopa County election results.Republican officials in the rural Arizona county had refused on Monday to certify the 2022 election despite no evidence of anything wrong with the count, amid pressure from prominent Republicans to reject results showing Democrats winning top races.
The Arizona Secretary of State argued Thursday that a judge should order the board to certify the November election results. The judge ruled in favor and said the board needs to certify the results by 5 p.m. Thursday. The board reportedly did so Thursday before 4 p.m.All Arizona counties are now canvassed.
