CobraKai Season 5 Interview: Dallas Dupree Young, Oona O’Brien & Griffin Santopietro
this Friday. Ahead of the official release, ComingSoon spoke with Dallas Dupree Young, Oona O’Brien, and Griffin Santopietro about what’s coming next. The young cast members hinted at a small part of their characters’ evolution process, recollected their best memories from the set, and more.
“Following the shocking results of the All Valley Tournament, Season 5 finds Terry Silver expanding the Cobra Kai empire and trying to make his “No Mercy” style of karate the only game in town,” reads the synopsis. “With Kreese behind bars and Johnny Lawrence setting karate aside to focus on repairing the damage he’s caused, Daniel LaRusso must call on an old friend for help.”
Tudor Leonte: Dallas, we see an evolution in Kenny, who isn’t looking up to Robbie anymore and is dedicating body and soul to Cobra Kai. What’s the best moment can fans will see in Season 5?: I believe the best moment would definitely have to be this fight sequence that really happens and it shapes who Kenny is as a leader. It also just transforms his mentality as well with, because of course he’s not listening to Tanner, who plays Robbie, of course.
Griffin, one of the first scenes in Cobra Kai Season 5 sees Anthony getting some retaliation from Kenny in a water park. How was it to be the victim for once?: It was really fun. We were kind of talking about this today that it’s almost more fun to play the victim in some of these cases. Dallas and I are good friends, so it was a lot of fun to get covered in all these pool rings. I think that for Dallas and I, as actors, it was fun to explore both sides of the bully-victim situation.
