HEAD coach Chot Reyes will go for the small ball when the national team faces Lebanon on Friday for its penultimate game in the sixth and last window of the International Basketball Federation World Cup Asian Qualifiers Friday at the Philippine Arena.
Gilas Pilipinas started training twice a day this week for its game against Lebanon set at 6 p.m. Friday in the in Bocaue arena.Reyes took in as “sparring partner” in the pool’s practices at the Meralco Gym 6-foot-11 Daniel Ochefu, TNT Tropang Giga’s import for the East Asia Super League. The tallest in Reyes’s lineup is 6-foot-10 June Mar Fajardo with 6-foot-7 veteran Kelly Williams, a late addition to the pool, a potential sub for the San Miguel Beer big man.
Kai Sotto, the tallest at 7-foot-3, was also hardly in the Gilas equation for the Lebanon and Jordan game on Monday because of issues with his stint overseas.
