THE Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said on Thursday that it was monitoring cloud formations east of Visayas and Mindanao, which have a chance of turning into a low pressure area (LPA).
In the meantime, the country is expected to experience generally fair weather, especially in Visayas and Luzon over the next 24 hours, according to specialist Aldczar Aurelio.'We can expect a higher temperature like 33 degrees Celsius over Metro Manila but isolated rain showers and thunderstorms are possible in the afternoon or at night,' the Pagasa forecaster said.
The state-run weather agency said the inter-tropical convergence zone is affecting Mindanao where overcast skies with scattered downpours and thunderstorms will prevail particularly over Davao Region and Caraga.The same weather system, along with the localized thunderstorms, is forecast over Metro Manila and the rest of the country where partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms will be experienced, the state weather bureau said.
