Thousands in Sabah were left jobless after the three-month movement control order period which saw the majority of businesses closed.

“The Sabah government has allocated RM20 million under the second New Deal package announced by Chief Minister Shafie Apdal,” he said, adding that the fund was meant for the reskilling and upskilling of workers who had lost their jobs. “We will be reaching out to the laid-off workers who have already registered with us to offer them programmes. Hopefully, they will be able to find work soon.”
