CLEVELAND, Ohio — The Guardians announced that Friday’s home opener against San Francisco has sold out, marking the 29th consecutive opening day sellout at Progressive Field., and limited inventory seats may become available leading up to the game at 7:10 p.m.
Fans seeking alternatives to standing-room tickets can purchase on the secondary market through StubHub, the club said.unsold — mostly in the upper deck of the ballpark — for the opener, but club officials remained confident that the game would sell out. A 99-day lockout that delayed the start of the season, combined with the team’s perceived lack of activity in the free agent and trade markets during the offseason, may have contributed to slower than expected ticket sales.
