PETALING JAYA: While most companies in the country have embraced flexible working arrangements , allowing employees to work from home will not become the norm, says the Malaysian Employers Federation .
The study, conducted between 2018 and 2023 on 191 manufacturing and non-manufacturing sectors, found that companies provided employees with flexibility in working hours , flexibility in workplace and flexibility in work days . Based on the survey, 86% cited tasks requiring physical presence whereas 56% were worried about disruption to daily operations, 42% doubted employees’ performance under remote settings and 35% were concerned over impact on quality of service.
“This should be addressed. We have recommended that the government use the FWAs concept for shift workers on non-shift workers,” he said.
