A 32-year-old cleaner is suspected of deliberately stepping in front of a car, causing an accident involving two vehicles in Bandar Sungai Long. The suspect, believed to be a foreign national, fled the scene with minor injuries before his details could be obtained.
, resulting in an accident in Bandar Sungai Long recently. According to Kajang district police chief Asst Comm Naazron Abdul Yusof, the suspect is believed to be a foreign national and working as a cleaner.
He added that the suspect left the scene with slight injuries before his details could be taken. The incident, which reportedly took place on September 17, 2024 at close to noon, resulted in two vehicles being damaged due to the actions of the 32-year-old suspect. The case is being investigated under Section 336 of the Penal Code for endangering the life or safety of another person which can be punished with three months jail or RM500 fine, or both. Additionally, the investigation is being carried out in accordance with Section 6 of the Immigration Act 1959/63 for not having an identity document. The police are urging those with information on the incident to come forward to assist with investigations.
According to dashcam footage of the incident, the suspect is seen waiting for cars to pass an intersection but appeared to deliberately step in front of the video car – a Honda CR-V – and turning his back before being struck.
