LUCENA CITY — Classes at all levels in public and private schools in the island town of Polillo in Quezon province were suspended on Monday, February 27, due to inclement weather.
In an announcement, Mayor Angelique Bosque said the class suspension was a precautionary measure to keep the students safe.The 4 a.m. weather bulletin of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, Bicol Region, Aurora, and Quezon face possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate or heavy rains triggered by the northeast monsoon, which is locally known as amihan.
