A glitch in Akila City is worth exploiting.
Summary SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT Starfield's Settled Systems are full of loot, from new spacesuits and weapons to food items. Many of these items can be claimed for free via a glitch, and it would be wise for players to do so before Bethesda inevitably patches it.
Shepherd's General Store in Akila City is a great location with everything from ammo to food items such as the processed Chunks range or real-world consumables such as potatoes, which come with a fun Lord of the Rings reference.
These items can all be claimed without technically stealing, which should result in far less scolding from the shop's owner, Emerson Shepherd, or certain companions like the by-the-book Sarah Morgan. Shepherd restocks most items daily, so doing the same waiting trick at the chair outside to pass the time between visits creates a loop of unlimited free items that can either be stored, consumed, or sold back to Shepherd for a 100% profit in what is perhaps the least ethical option.
This suit is supposed to be behind a Master lock and would normally require upgrading the Security skill, and there are some arguments against spending so many skill points on this considering how the types of loot seem to vary with some containers, with Novice locks sometimes granting great suits or weapons, whereas some Expert and Master level containers can offer up common items like Medpacks.
Some will undoubtedly argue that exploiting such glitches detracts from the satisfaction of earning these items via proper methods. However, glitches such as the Shepherd's General Store puddle aren't obvious and game-breaking, are generally harmless, and can be a great way to help those in the know get an extra boost, especially early in Starfield's campaign, and are certainly worth looking for before Bethesda fixes it.
