The City of Bunbury has confirmed two homes and eight businesses have been destroyed by a storm that struck the city on Sunday morning.

The damage bill from the latest storm to smash Western Australia's largest regional city is becoming clearer with two homes and eight businesses confirmed destroyed."There have been 10 properties in this recent storm that have been complete write-offs, eight of those commercial and two residential.""We're probably looking at about $2 million damage," Mr Miguel said.

"Now we're not sure whether all the things that we consider essential will be picked up, but we're pretty confident they will be."Bunbury Surf Life Saving Club spokesperson Denise Duncan said it was not yet clear if the tower could be restored or if it needed to be replaced."The storm must have picked up and blown the massive structure towards the playground at Koombana Bay.

"We've got people in the area who are assessing the damage, having a look at the damage especially to the pub roof," duty forecaster Jessica Lingard said."So there will be some damage lying to the east, some lying to the west, some damage lying to the north, some damage lying to the south. That would indicate there were winds wrapping around in a circle."It was definitely a windy night, but not sure if we will ever be able to confirm if it's a tornado or not.
