Alongside horse races, Sam Houston Race Park patrons may enjoy Cirque du Soleil's 'Kooza,' camel and ostrich races, and the new Finish Line Bar this year.
, Sam Houston Race Park is planning to cater to all ages in 2023.
“Kooza” will focus on exotic visuals and “themes of fear, identity recognition and power,” according to the show description. Tickets are currently on sale. “ dress as an astronaut and get to run on the track after a thoroughbred race,” said Frank Hopf, assistant general manager of the race park.Camel and ostrich races are scheduled for March 11 and March 12, with one of each taking place during the thoroughbred races. Participants can see a petting zoo and take pony rides on both days. Weiner dog races will take place March 19, as well as corgi races on May 20.The Thoroughbred Meet is currently taking place until April 8.
