Cillian Murphy, the star of the blockbuster Oppenheimer, was one of the big names at the Oscar Wilde Awards in Hollywood on Thursday night. The event took place just days before the Academy Awards, where Murphy is tipped to win for his performance in Oppenheimer.
In an interview with IrishStar.com, Murphy discussed everything from the success of Oppenheimer to his son's budding acting career. He said: "None of us expected that the film would do so well. The thing that always strikes me is when people come and say they've seen the film five or six times, that's kind of phenomenal and young and old and boys and girls, it's amazing."He said: "I haven't really thought about it to be honest, I just want to go in and have a good time. I'm sure we'll have a party of some sort.
He said: "I'm very, very proud of him. He's a great actor. He doesn't need my advice, he's well able... We have such a strong representation here for such a small country and it's kind of unique and something we should be very proud of."
