Democrats and establishment journalists (but I repeat myself) cannot talk about abortion honestly because it exposes that their stance of fully taxpayer-funded abortion with no restrictions is extreme, ZacharyFaria writes.

That is how NBC’s Chuck Todd sounded in an interview with former Vice President Mike Pence. When talking about abortion, Todd asked Pence if he supported “government-mandated pregnancy.” “Are you comfortable with the idea of essentially government-mandated pregnancy?” Todd asked. “Somebody doesn't want this child, doesn't want this pregnancy to go through. You're now advocating a law that essentially the government is ordering you to go through with this pregnancy.

SEVENTY PERCENT OF FBI'S ABORTION-RELATED VIOLENCE CASES HAVE ANTI-ABORTION VICTIMS SINCE DOBBS: WRAY What? Who has the government mandated to get pregnant? This is an absurd talking point. Sure, abortion activists have adopted the world of The Handmaid’s Tale as the symbol for their protests, but we live in the real world, not a mediocre book and television series. The government is not mandating people to get pregnant, nor is Pence advocating that.

Of course, Todd knows this. But in order to protect and promote unfettered abortion access through all nine months of pregnancy, Todd is forcing himself to sound like an unhinged activist. They can’t acknowledge that abortion is a procedure that only exists to end a human life, or that nearly 99% of women who get abortions got pregnant because they chose to have sex.

Just like the nonsense you hear from Democratic politicians or media figures about “forced birth,” “government-mandated pregnancy” is another nonsense term designed to drown the abortion debate in activist-speak rather than discuss what abortion is and what it does. Todd does not want the discussion to focus on the ending of human life, or on the heartbeat an unborn child has at six weeks of gestation, or on the vacuum that abortionists use to remove the dead baby parts after an abortion.
