Twelve people were added to the growing list of individuals who died due to shearline-induced rains that caused widespread floods in different parts of the country during the Christmas weekend.

In its latest situational report, the NDRRMC said majority of the fatalities were recorded in Northern Mindanao with 24; Bicol Region has six deaths; Zamboanga Peninsula and Davao Region have four each; Eastern Visayas and Caraga have three apiece. Thousands will also welcome the New Year in evacuation centers as they still could not go back to their homes due to the devastation caused by the shearline.
Meanwhile, infrastructure loss was pegged at P1,130,405,000 which affected Regions 4B, 5, 10, and 11.
