Former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie slammed No Labels's attempt to run a third-party 2024 ticket in an interview with radio host Hugh Hewitt on Thursday.

Christie was asked to explain his thoughts about No Labels when Hewitt expressed his support of the group."I want No Labels to prosper. I want them to get out there and raise a lot of money and find a couple of Democrat dummies to run on that and drain votes from Democrats, because I’m a Republican," Hewitt said."What do you think about No Labels?"The former governor was unequivocal in his blunt disdain."I think it’s a fool’s errand. I really do.

No Labels is attempting to run a presidential candidate during the 2024 cycle in an effort to thwart former President Donald Trump and President Joe Biden from winning reelection to the White House. The group has successfully gained access to the ballot in at least 10 states. Larry Hogan, former two-term Maryland governor and honorary chairman of No Labels, said he hasn't ruled out running for president."It's not something I'm pursuing," Hogan said on CBS News's Face the Nation on Sunday."I'm hoping we don't get to that point. I have not closed door to that.

Sen. Joe Manchin has also been rumored to be a presidential candidate for No Labels if he declines to run for reelection. However, the group suggested it would walk away from its effort to find a third-party candidate if Trump were not the Republican nominee. Trump currently remains the front-runner in the GOP primary race, four months removed from the first nominating contests next year.
