The Commission on Human Rights (CHR) has fervently wished for an end to the killings and violence in the country, not only during the Holiday Season but also in the succeeding years.
In its Christmas message, the CHR exhorted the public to be relentless in facing the world with lots of hope in the future.
The CHR also wishes an end to all forms of violence and the immediate arrest of all those involved in the crime. Likewise, it wishes that the government starts focusing its attention on other woes like poverty and human rights violation. In addition, the CHR expressed confidence the Yuletide Season celebration will encourage government officials to find ways on how they can become better leaders shunning personal interests in favor of genuine public service. It has also offered prayers to those affected by violence; families forced to evacuate due to the tragedy of the disaster; and relatives who are constantly seeking justice.
Despite an uphill battle to seek justice and end abuses in the country, the CHR stressed the importance of acknowledging even the small victories that the concerned parties have gained.
