Business tycoon Tan Kok Ping called the Penang chief minister ‘incompetent, ignorant and shameless’ over the Batu Kawan land deal.
Penang chief minister Chow Kon Yeow has denied business tycoon Tan Kok Ping’s claim that he evaded questions on the controversial Batu Kawan land deal.
GEORGE TOWN: Penang chief minister Chow Kon Yeow says he will sue business tycoon Tan Kok Ping for allegedly making defamatory remarks against him yesterday. Chow said the decision to sue Tan, who is the Penang Chinese Chamber of Commerce life honorary president, was unanimously made by the Penang executive council today.
Speaking at a press conference yesterday in Mandarin, Tan had called Chow “incompetent, ignorant and shameless” for evading questions about the sale of a plot of industrial land in Batu Kawan. In response, Chow denied claims that he did not answer questions, saying a state agency he chairs that was involved in the land sale had answered on his behalf.
