LEE Chong Wei and Co are ready to flaunt their skills during an exhibition match just before the semi-finals of the Malaysian Open on Saturday.
Under the banner of Visions’ Legend organised by Yonex, the 39-year-old Chong Wei, Taufik Hidayat of Indonesia, Peter Gade of Denmark and South Korea’s Lee Yong-dae will strut their stuff for an hour starting at 10am.“I’ve not played any exhibition match since Covid-19 hit us ... so I’m quite excited,” said Chong Wei.
“It’ll be good to team up with Taufik, Peter and Yong-dae during this exhibition match. Lin Dan is unlikely to make it as he will have to do a 21-day quarantine when he returns as China is still strict with their plans to contain the virus.“Initially, we had plans to go around the globe but Covid-19 had spoiled our plans. We are back again under Visions’ Legend and will be visiting countries where badminton is not their major sport.
“We hope to give back to the sport and raise its standard. We want badminton to be well known and offer good prize money for players too.”
