The Nation Newspaper Chinese Green project provides 20,000mt of seeds over a decade
The initiative being executed by a Chinese firm, CGCOC Group Co., Ltd, according to a report from the Chinese Embassy, produces and supplies rice seeds and also developes diversified seed business based on the local planting structure.
GAWAL, which obtained the seed license from the Nigerian National Agricultural Seeds Council in 2010, also runs a 2025-hactrrs of land mechanised demonstration farm in Kebbi State. The initiative has also established the CGCOC Agriculture High-tech Abuja Industrial Park in Abuja, as part of the efforts to support Nigeria’s food security.
The report further stated, “In order to enhance the agricultural exchange and cooperation between China and Nigeria, since 2016 company has undertaken the agricultural technical training programmes sponsored by Chinese Government and trained over 400 governmental officials from across Nigeria.
