A man from east China has been detained on suspicion of stabbing to death a 10-year-old boy following a scuffle between the child and the suspect’s daughter who were in the same class at school.
Police in the Xinzhou district of Shangrao, Jiangxi province, said on Saturday that a 41-year-old man, whom they identified as Wang, had been taken into custody.
The victim, surnamed Liu, was taken to hospital for emergency treatment but doctors were unable to save him, the statement said.An initial investigation determined that Wang had gone to the school with the purpose of attacking the boy after hearing about the scuffle between Liu and his daughter, the police report said.
