Of those, 61 involved travellers arriving from overseas, the health authority said on Thursday, the most since March 25.While infections have fallen from their peak in February after China locked down several cities and imposed strict travel restrictions, authorities have called for continued vigilance amid fears of a second wave of infections.

China’s main concern now is managing infected travellers arriving from abroad and asymptomatic people, or virus carriers who exhibit no clinical symptoms such as a fever or a cough. Of the new infections involving asymptomatic carriers, the central province of Hubei accounted for 24 cases.
