China bans custody, ‘education’ punishment for sex workers

CHINESE lawmakers today voted to abolish the “custody and education” punishment system, which allowed police to hold sex workers and their clients without charge for up to two years, state media reported.Effective July 2018, access to full reports will only be available with a subscription.
