BEIJING: China memberi amaran keras akan melancarkan peperangan ke atas Taiwan selepas satu laporan mendakwa kira-kira 30,000 anggota tentera Amerika Syarikat ditempatkan di wilayah separa autonomi itu.
Tindakan itu berikutan seorang ahli Senator parti Republikan dari Texas, John Cornyn menerusi ciapan di Twitter mendakwa terdapat 30,000 tentera AS di Taiwan walaupun tiada anggota dikerahkan ke wilayah itu sejak tahun 1979. Sebelum ini, Taiwan pernah ‘mengadu’ mengenai tindakan tentera China yang sering melakukan latihan ketenteraan berhampiran kawasan sekitar wilayah itu sejak dua tahun lalu.
