A 10-minute police chase late Sunday ended with officers pulling a young child from Sims Bayou in southeast Houston.Police officers rescued a child late Sunday after a 10-minute chase ended with a vehicle crashing into a bayou in southeast Houston, officials said.
Officers around 11:45 p.m. attempted to stop a Mini Cooper when it led them on a 10-minute chase across southeast Houston, Lt. J.P. Horelica of the Houston Police Department told Metro Video Services reporters. Horelica wasn’t sure why the Mini Cooper sped away.The chase ended when the vehicle fell into Sims Bayou, near the intersection of Grove Ridge and Glenview drives, Horelica said.
The man then began swimming across the bayou before officers arrested him, Horelica said. The child was taken to the hospital for observation.
