The Kansas City Chiefs shared some encouraging news on quarterback Patrick Mahomes’ ankle injury Wednesday.
“It’s doing good. I had a few days of treatment and a few days of rehab. I’m excited to go on the practice field and test it out, and see where I’m at. But it’s feeling good so far,” Mahomes said during a press conference before practice.
The Bengals have won three straight games against the Chiefs, including last season’s AFC championship game. “It’s just about being a competitor. You want to be out there, especially in these games,” Mahomes said. “So, all you can do is just mentally prepare yourself, your body throughout the week, and when you get to game day, you just have to focus on the game.
Mahomes’ goal during practice this week is to see the limitations of his injury, and how they will affect him in Sunday’s game. Reid, who said Mahomes was able to participate in the Chiefs’ walkthrough earlier Wednesday, said he may have to restrain Mahomes from doing too much in practice.
