Players for the Kansas City Chiefs were allowed to watch Rihanna’s Super Bowl halftime show Sunday — at their own risk.

Super Bowl Most Valuable Player Patrick Mahomes said Monday that coach Andy Reid put the kibosh on any hopes of catching the star singer perform live once the team went to the locker room.

“Coach Reid told us, ‘If you go out to watch the performance, just keep walking because you’re not playing the rest of the game,’” the quarterback said during an appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” Kansas City trailed 24-14 at the half to the Philadelphia Eagles. Worse, Mahomes reaggravated his ankle injury from earlier in the playoffs and he hobbled off the field as the second quarter ended.

“Luckily enough for me, we have a lot of great leaders on that team,” Mahomes told Kimmel. “I talked, Travis talked, we had other guys who stepped up and talked as well. We just said that we had to go out and leave it out on the field.”As for Rihanna’s show, the NFL champions can watch it all they want on DVR.
