Kaizer Chiefs striker Ashley Du Preez is looking to improve his goalscoring record when Amakhosi faces Richards Bay on Sunday afternoon.loss to Orlando Pirates. Before his brace, the former Stellenbosch star last scored back in September He missed more than 10 matches across all competitions following an injury but has since looked sharp since returning.
Kaizer Chiefs are in danger of missing out on the top eight but an in-form Ashley Du Preez could elevate them. “My form at the moment, I think I can do way better. I do get a lot of chances each game and the last time I scored was in the derby,” Du Preez said as per “That was a very good boost for me and I can look back at that game and go to Durban against Richards Bay to do the same thing, creating chances and converting them.
“We need to fight as a team to not concede and score goals and that’s the only way we can win the game.”Ashley Du Preez has only scored five goals in 21 matches this season; four have come in defeats. Amakhosi have struggled for goals this season with their strikers misfiring. The likes of Ranga Chivaviro, Jason Gonzalez and Christian Saile Basomboli are yet to find the net this year. The Soweto giants have had to rely on their wingers and midfielders for goals.
