The store on Houston Street will offer drive-thru, dine-in and carry-out options and joins more than 30 other Chick-fil-A locations across San Antonio.
It will be open from 6:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 6:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Like all the company's stores, it will be closed Sunday.
Houston native Jamie Williams moved to San Antonio with his family to own and operate the restaurant, which is his first franchise. He previously worked at other fast-casual restaurants and said he sought to become a Chick-fil-A franchisee after talking to his brother-in-law Ben Stover, who runs the Chick-fil-A at 20831 U.S. 281, the company said.
As part of the opening, Chick-fil-A is donating $25,000 to Feeding America, a nonprofit focused on ending hunger.It's had a sometimes-contentious relationship with the city. In 2019, City Council booted Chick-fil-A from a concession contract for vendors at San Antonio International Airport because of the company's history of donating to organizations opposed to LGBTQ+ rights.religious conservatives, including U.S. Sen.
