A Chicago shooting in the Lower West Side near 21st and Western Monday critically injured 2 people, CPD said. An officer was injured in the aftermath.
Police said the victim, a 32-year-old male and a 29-year-old female, were both inside a vehicle at the time of the shooting on 21st Street just west of Western Avenue.
Chicago police said the vehicle, a black Honda SUV, continued traveling eastbound on 21st St. after the shooting until it struck a parked car in the 2300-block of West 21st Street.Police said that after the shooting, "while maintaining control of the scene," a female CPD officer was injured in the leg and taken to a local hospital for treatment in fair condition.No one is currently in custody for the shooting. Area Three detectives are investigating.
