Up until recently, Kenneth Chesebro was known to the political world as the attorney who worked on Donald Trump’s fake-electors scheme. Now, as my MSNBC colleague Jordan Rubin explained, the lawyer’s reputation has a striking new dimension. An NBC News report added that the attorney from Team Trump now faces “five years probation, a $5,000 fine, 100 hours of community service, and must continue to provide documents and evidence to the state, according to the terms of the deal.
Trump’s former campaign adviser, George Papadopoulos, was charged, convicted, and sentenced to prison.The Trump Organization’s former CFO, Allen Weisselberg, was charged, convicted, and sentenced to prison.Trump’s former White House advisor, Peter Navarro, was charged and convicted.Trump’s former chief strategist, Steve Bannon, was charged with wire fraud and money laundering, in addition to a conviction in a contempt case similar to Navarro’s.
