“My mother would be glad to hear you say [that I seem mellow],” Cher quipped during a 1995 interview in Ireland. “My mother’s waiting for me to grow old and settle down [and] marry a rich man. [She said], ‘Cher, when you get older, I wish you’d hurry up and get older, so you’d settle down and marry a rich man.’ And I said, ‘Mom, I am a rich man. Like, I don’t have to marry one.’”
