PETALING JAYA: National football coach Tan Cheng Hoe wants his men to continue to dream big as they ended 2019 on a high in their 2022 World Cup-2023 Asian Games qualifying campaign.
Cheng Hoe’s men beat bitter rivals Indonesia 2-0 in their Group G match at the National Stadium in Bukit Jalil on Tuesday for their ninth win of the year.
However, Cheng Hoe does not want to think too much about next year and wants his men to have a well-deserved break. “They’ve been under a lot of pressure yet they made sure that we successfully collected six points (against Thailand 2-1 and Indonesia]. I want them to utilise the break as well as they can before coming back stronger next year,” said the 51-year-old.
Despite the comfortable scoreline in Tuesday’s win, Cheng Hoe said his men were given a tough fight by the visitors.
