Checkers raking it in with Sixty60

Shoprite has also reported solid overall sales growth over the past year.

Shoprite released an operational update for the year ended 30 June 2024, revealing strong growth for its on-demand delivery service, Checkers Sixty60.

Checkers, Checkers Hyper, and Shoprite fall under the company’s Supermarkets RSA business, which reported sales from continuing operations of R173.6 billion, while overall group sales amounted to R215 billion. “Like-for-like sales growth for the period measured 6.3% noting that the stores acquired from Massmart were included in like-for-like sales growth only for the second half period,” it added.
