RANAU: Village leaders are urged to first check the land ownership status of an area before gazetting a new village there, Assistant Minister to the Chief Minister Datuk Abidin Madingkir said.
“We have received a proposal to create the Pudau Ponulangon village area and we found that this area is indeed quite beautiful and strategic but it is located in the Government Forest Reserve. Daily Express Malaysia
“For the information of the residents of Kg Ponulangon and around here, the village area of Kg Ponulangon is within the Government Forest Reserve area. “Nevertheless, we have made efforts including bringing up this issue several times and forwarded it to Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Hj Noor so that this village area can be removed from the forest reserve,” he said.
