Chat Hei Claypot Restaurant in PJ Uptown offers a vibrant Hong Kong dining experience with its claypot dishes, Cantonese tunes, and delicious menu. From classic Sweet & Sour Egg to addictive Fried Pork Balls, there's something for everyone to enjoy.

The shophouses surrounding the office buildings in PJ Uptown offer a wide array of dining options, with eateries constantly evolving in the competitive F&B industry. Chat Hei Claypot Restaurant , opened late last year, has become a popular choice, always packed from lunchtime onwards. Its bright red signage and prime location opposite Starling Mall make it hard to miss.

Inside, the restaurant transports diners to Hong Kong with its Cantonese tunes and tagline, “Sik faan jui gan yiu hoi sam!” which translates to “When you’re eating rice, the most important thing is to be happy!”The restaurant's claypot dishes are its star attraction, with most served with gravy and steamed hot from the black claypots. Solo diners may have limited variety, but sharing claypots proves to be a cost-effective option for groups. The menu features beloved classics like the Signature Sweet & Sour Egg (RM13), elevated with a fluffy omelette drenched in a tangy, sweet tomato sauce. Variations with beancurd (RM15) and fish are also available. For protein, the Kung Pao Chicken (RM15.50) is a standout, featuring smooth, tender boneless chicken thigh simmered in a dark, savory sauce with subtle hints of dried red chillies. The dish is generously sauced, perfect for pouring over a bowl of rice. Another popular option is the Steamed Egg with Minced Meat (RM18), a fluffy, piping hot cloud of comfort with a sprinkle of minced meat. The Claypot Minced Meat Loh Shu Fun, though visually unassuming, offers a satisfying blend of rat tail noodles, minced meat, and an egg. While not every dish hits the mark, the Signature Fried Pork Ball (RM12 for 12 pieces) is undeniably addictive. These crispy poppers, filled with juicy minced pork, vanish quickly. Even the drinks are commendable, with the refreshing Yaxi Punched Iced Lemon Tea (RM9) being a standout. For a palate cleanser, the Jasmine Grape Lychee Jelly (RM8) is a good choice. The restaurant takes packaging seriously, even dressing up a cup of jelly with cardboard adorned with lychee, floral, and grape motifs
