Tobias Moran, who was accused of killing German backpacker Simone Strobel on the NSW North Coast in 2005, has had charges against him withdrawn.
Prosecutors have dropped charges against Tobias Moran, who was accused of murdering his German backpacker girlfriend on the NSW North Coast 18 years ago.
In Perth, Moran stood alongside his wife, Samantha Moran, as she read a statement to waiting media after the development. Moran said her husband was a provider for his family and a hard worker, and claimed he had been incorrectly portrayed as someone “living the life of luxury”.“The perception of Toby in this manner is not only wrong, but it is unfair to Simone’s family to see him portrayed as living a privileged life, and having moved on from Simone,” she said, thanking family and friends for support since his arrest.Moran greeted by his wife at Perth Airport after flying back to WA in August last year.
