: A chargeman at an institute in Penang has been remanded for six days until Oct 9 for allegedly soliciting a bribe of RM30,000 in return for securing a civil repair service contract at his workplace.

According to a source, the suspect, who serves as the project superintendent at the institute, allegedly requested the bribe from a manager of the company that was awarded the civil repair service contract for the institute’s building. The man was subsequently detained in an operation conducted by the Penang MACC around Penaga at about 8 pm yesterday.
