Charades has closed multiple deals on “There’s Something in the Barn,” Magnus Martens’s (“Fear the Walking Dead”) comedy horror movie from “Dead Snow”…
The English-language movie is headlined by Martin Starr , Amrita Acharia and Jeppe Beck Laursen . Both Starr and Acharia previously starred in “Dead Snow 2.” The film follows the Nordheim family who have happily moved to their old family farm in the Norwegian Mountain. They lives turn into hell and torments when they come across the trickiest Nordic folklore creatures known as the Barn Elf.
Ahead of its world premiere at Sitges and Fantastic Fest, “There’s Something in the Barn” has been pre-sold by Charades to a raft of major territories, including Germany , Spain UK , Switzerland , Portugal , Scandinavia , Hungary , Czech Rep & Slovakia , Romania , Adriatics , Baltics , Russia , Lebanon & Gulf , French-Speaking Africa , Australia and New Zealand and India . The film will be released on Nov.
One of Norway’s best genre filmmakers, Martens previously directed multiple episodes of “Good Behavior,” “Fear the Walking Dead” and “Banshee,” among other shows. Charades attended the Venice Film Festival with several films including Timm Kröger’s “The Theory of Everything” which world premiered in competition, and Sébastien Vaniček’s horror film “Vermin” which played at Venice Critics Week and has sold to Shudder.
