There is no question that the future of TV technology for Samsung lies in Micro LEDs, which use pixel-level LEDs forged from sapphires to make each pixel its own backlight. This makes Micro LED similar to OLED tech, where each pixel acts independently, but without the brightness issues and burn-in issues encountered in OLED displays.
Unfortunately, until now, the only TVs capable of housing Micro LEDs were massive , because that was the smallest that Samsung could make each pixel-size LED. Now, the company has announced a brand new 76-inch Micro LED CX model, which brings the technology to TVs that may fit in actual living rooms for the first time. It will be very expensive, we imagine , but any A/V nerd should be excited about the longer-term implications of this. Micro LED tech is finally getting micro.
