The famous sweet treats are almost here! Tens of thousands of Girl Scout cookie boxes were picked up at the annual event Saturday to eventually be delivered.
Girl Scout leaders, parents and troop members pull up to the site to pick up their requested boxes. Tens of thousands of Girl Scout cookie boxes were picked up by troops at the Colonial Park Mall to eventually be delivered to customers.Troop leaders and members stopped at a distribution site near them – Colonial Park being one of four in the area – and the volunteers helped them pack their cars with the requested amount of boxes.
"It truly is the largest girl-led business in the world. So, girls learn how to basically run their own business, how to manage money, how to do a budget, how to talk to people and how to manage their time – and they develop amazing sales skills," said Miriam DeFehr, the Chief Operating Officer of Girl Scouts in the Heart of Pennsylvania.
