Censure Penang PAS secretary over ceramah incident, says Guan Eng FMTNews FMTEng

Lim Guan Eng said Penang PAS secretary Iszuree Ibrahim should also extend a public apology to Gerakan chief Dominic Lau.

GEORGE TOWN: PAS has been told to reprimand one of its Penang leaders and make him apologise for turning away Gerakan president Dominic Lau from a Perikatan Nasional ceramah in Sungai Dua on Tuesday.“The video shows Lau was chased out. What are you talking about? Don’t deceive yourself, everyone is laughing ,” Lim told FMT.

Lau had denied being told to leave the ceramah. He said he was supposed to meet PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang at 9pm at the event, but left because Hadi ran late for a meeting at Bayan Lepas, where he is the PN candidate. Yesterday, Gerakan deputy president Oh Tong Keong urged PAS to explain why Lau was turned away, saying the party had disrespected the PN deputy chairman and Penang PN chief.

Lim said Penang PAS secretary Iszuree Ibrahim, who was alleged to have asked Lau to leave in a video recording, should be censured by the party. This morning, PAS secretary-general Takiyuddin Hassan apologised to Lau on behalf of his party, saying he should have been accepted and treated as a guest, in accordance with Islamic principles.
