I can understand the base human urges concerning such areas as gluttony, sex and drunkenness - either individually or in some entertaining combination.We are seeing that urge on display both in Musk’s acquisition of Twitter and thatdemanding that Random House cancel plans to publish a book by U.S. Supreme Court Justice Amy Coney Barrett.
I seem to be the only journalist who noticed it, but at the heart of the Russiagate probe was an assertion that the mere transfer of information can be criminalized I work in the newspaper end of the publishing industry, where we could use some obscene profits. I can’t understand why people who sell books for a living could want to prevent the sale of a book.
